Beware the Ides of March

Well, hello MARCH!!! This is the month that always sneaks up on me and this year was no different. There is so much change that always happens in this month which can be challenging but for me so I tread super lightly, especially this week. If you’re familiar with Shakespeare, then you feel me. This is the month I always run into issues – last year on my first kid-free vacation in years, I broke 2 toes and got super sick so the trip was not how I had imagined but nonetheless, a break from kids is always a good thing – broken toes and sickness aside.

This year instead of vacation, we are home after our youngest son had eye surgery so we have a lot of downtime and our oldest will need stuff to do. My husband is working and I am on my own this week with a recovering 5yo and a bored 8yo – so as far as my fasts go, I will be SUPER graceful with myself. I expect there to be days I won’t make my goal. I expect white-knuckling. I expect longer windows. If you
can PLAN for these days and listen to your body and give yourself a LOT of grace, one week will not destroy your progress! Put in your best effort every day and stay consistent even if it’s not what you had planned and I promise, you will reach your goal!

While I wish I was back in the Caribbean vacationing, I am grateful my son is doing well and recovering from what was a scary surgery for him (and me). I am grateful for my amazing clients who are absolute rockstars – honestly, coaching others to find this freedom and way of life has been so much more rewarding than I could have possibly imagined. Furthermore, I am grateful for all of YOU!

For those navigating spring break with young children, I see you. I feel you. You got this.

Fast on, friends.
