What is clean intermittent fasting?
Intermittent fasting is an eating plan that switches between fasting and eating on a regular schedule. Clean intermittent fasting is when one does not eat or drink anything flavored for a set length of time. There are various ways to do intermittent fasting, but they are all based on the core concept of choosing regular time periods to eat and fast.
Clean intermittent fasting isn’t about following a particular diet, starving yourself, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Intermittent fasting doesn’t change what you eat, it changes when you eat. By reducing our insulin levels over long periods of time on a daily basis, not only does one burn through their glucose stores, we begin to burn our OWN fat each and every day, reaching ketosis daily, naturally.
Along with the flexibility of scheduling and the fact that you can still have tasty food, intermittent fasting has proven to have many health benefits like weight loss, fat loss, a boost in energy, and decreased risk of serious diseases. After trying to fast on and off for several months, I had a routine physical and discovered my cholesterol had climbed higher than ever. I have shifted my window to a time where I don’t feel deprived and where I feel energized throughout the entire day. I have gained energy, confidence and I have lost 9 pounds after continuing using what I learned from Michelle ( I’m 5’0” and went from 119 to 110 pounds. That’s slightly less than I weighed in high school and I’m now 37 with 2 kids).
I truly don’t think I would have reaped all the benefits fasting has to offer if I didn’t have Michelle to guide me along the way. I feel strong and I’m so happy. I was technically clean fasting before. But Michelle taught me how to make this my lifestyle. I plan to get my cholesterol checked again in a couple months but I am confident I am doing all I can to boost my health.
